Job Summary
We’re looking for a Software Quality Engineer who goes beyond testing, someone who builds quality into the system, not just validating it at the end. You will partner closely with engineers and System Analyst team to design, automate, and enforce quality across the delivery pipeline, helping us scale reliably as we grow.
Key Responsibilities
Take ownership of quality at every stage of the product development lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive, risk-based test strategies and plans aligned with business and technical requirements.
- Work closely with engineers during design and development to improve testability, edge case coverage, and failure handling.
- Design, build, and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, and/or Appium to improve test coverage and efficiency.
- Identify, document, and track defects through their full lifecycle, working with relevant teams to ensure timely resolution.
- Prepare clear and concise test reports, summarising test results, defect metrics, and quality status for stakeholders.
- Continuously review and improve QA processes, standards, and tools to enhance overall testing effectiveness.
- Leverage logs, metrics, and monitoring tools to validate production quality and proactively identify issues.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Must-Have:
- 2–4 years of hands-on experience in QC/QA roles covering both manual and automation testing.
- Proficiency with automation frameworks: Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, and/or Appium.
- Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and testing methodologies.
- Exposure to API testing tools such as Postman or RestAssured.
- Experience with defect tracking tools (e.g. JIRA, Bugzilla).
- Solid analytical skills with high attention to detail.
Nice-to-Have:
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integration of automated tests (e.g. Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
- Basic understanding of performance and reliability testing concepts.
- Prior experience in fintech, digital payments, or banking platforms.
- ISTQB certification or equivalent is an added advantage.
