Software Quality Engineer (Internal Quality Audit)

Position Overview

This role is responsible for leading and performing

Internal Quality Audits (IQA)

to provide independent assurance of compliance with organizational policies, procedures, quality standards, governance requirements, and regulatory obligations. The position also supports continual improvement initiatives through audit findings, corrective actions, quality advisory services, and the maintenance of controlled documentation within the Quality Management System (QMS).

Core Responsibilities

Internal Quality Audit

Develop and manage the annual Internal Quality Audit programme.

Plan and conduct end-to-end audits covering IT projects, operational functions, and support functions.

Assess compliance with

: Quality Management System (QMS) requirements, Organizational policies, Governance controls, Regulatory requirements, Applicable standards.

Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of:
Internal controls, Business and operational processes, Risk management practices.

Collect and analyse audit evidence through:
Interviews, Document reviews, Process walkthroughs, Sampling activities.

Prepare and present:
Audit findings. Recommendations, Management action plans.

Monitor corrective and preventive actions and verify the effective closure of audit findings.

Maintain:
Audit records, Audit evidence, Audit schedules, Audit performance metrics.

Support external audits, certification activities, and quality reviews.

Provide guidance to process owners on:
Audit requirements, Compliance obligations, Quality practices.

Compliance, Documentation & Continuous Improvement

Conduct compliance reviews and support audit-readiness activities.

Maintain and control

Quality Management System (QMS)

procedures, standards, and records.

Monitor corrective actions and recurring non-conformities.

Support process improvement initiatives and quality-awareness programmes.

Required Experience

Minimum

five years

of relevant experience in:
Internal Quality Audit, Quality Management, Compliance, Governance, Process Assurance.

Proven ability to plan and conduct Internal Quality Audits independently.

Experience maintaining a Quality Management System (QMS) and controlled procedural documentation.

Experience supporting ISO certification audits and compliance reviews.

Technical Knowledge & Skills

Strong knowledge of

: ISO 9001, Audit methodologies, Risk-based auditing principles.

Familiarity with

: IT Governance, Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Change Management, Service Management, Operational Controls.

Strong:
Analytical skills, Investigative skills, Interviewing skills, Report-writing skills.

Effective communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities.

Ability to work independently and exercise professional judgement.

Educational Requirements

Degree in: Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Quality Management, Related discipline.

Preferred

ISO 9001 Internal Auditor Certification

ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Certification

Advantageous

CISA

CQA

ITIL

Six Sigma

Equivalent professional certifications

Preferred Industry Experience

Experience working within: Government environments, Public-sector organizations, Regulated-industry IT environments.

Additional Advantages

Experience auditing: Agile environments, DevOps environments, Cloud-native development environments, Cloud product development environments.

Familiarity with: AWS services, Cloud governance, Secure cloud operations

Experience conducting: Quality assurance reviews for cloud products, Compliance reviews for cloud products, Quality assurance reviews for digital services, Compliance reviews for digital services.
