Job Overview

Codefied is looking for a detail-oriented and technically skilled Software Quality Engineer (SQE) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, functionality, and performance of our software products through manual testing, automated testing, API testing, and comprehensive quality assurance practices.

The successful candidate will work closely with software developers, product managers, and other team members to identify defects, improve testing processes, and ensure that software releases meet defined quality standards.

We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of software testing methodologies, hands-on experience with test automation tools, and a genuine passion for delivering reliable, user-friendly software.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts for web and mobile applications.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, smoke, and exploratory testing.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive test cases, test plans, test scenarios, and test documentation.
• Conduct API testing using Postman and REST APIs to verify functionality, data integrity, and system integrations.
• Work with automation testing frameworks and tools such as Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress.
• Identify, document, track, and report software defects with clear reproduction steps and supporting evidence.
• Collaborate with developers to investigate issues, verify fixes, and prevent recurring defects.
• Execute cross-browser and cross-platform testing to ensure consistent application behavior.
• Participate in requirements analysis and provide feedback on testability, potential risks, and quality improvements.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines where applicable.
• Monitor test execution results, investigate failures, and maintain reliable automated test suites.
• Conduct regression testing before software releases to ensure existing functionality remains stable.
• Maintain clear documentation of testing activities, defects, and quality metrics.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, test coverage, and software delivery standards.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Strong understanding of software testing principles and Quality Assurance (QA) methodologies.
• Practical experience in manual software testing and test case design.
• Experience with at least one test automation tool, such as Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress.
• Working knowledge of API testing using Postman and REST APIs.
• Understanding of functional, regression, integration, and smoke testing.
• Ability to write clear, structured test cases and detailed bug reports.
• Familiarity with defect tracking systems and software development workflows.
• Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
• Basic understanding of CI/CD concepts and automated testing workflows.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building and maintaining automated test frameworks.
• Familiarity with JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Java, or another programming language used for test automation.
• Experience testing web applications, mobile applications, and backend services.
• Knowledge of Git, version control, and collaborative development workflows.
• Familiarity with Agile or Scrum software development methodologies.
• Experience with test reporting, defect lifecycle management, and quality metrics.
• Understanding of database testing and basic SQL queries.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
