Software Test Engineer

Job Summary

The Software Test Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software applications through manual testing, defect identification, and validation. The role involves analyzing requirements, preparing and executing test cases, tracking defects, and collaborating with development teams to deliver high-quality software solutions in compliance with SDLC and QALC processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze business and system requirements to identify test scenarios and ensure adequate test coverage.
• Prepare and execute test plans, test cases, test scenarios, and test data.
• Perform manual testing, including functional, system, integration, regression, smoke, and UI/UX testing of web and mobile applications.
• Identify, document, track, and report defects using tools such as JIRA, Bugzilla, Mantis, or similar platforms.
• Validate defect fixes through retesting and regression testing.
• Review SRS, use cases, and functional specifications to ensure requirements are clear and testable.
• Maintain test documentation, test execution reports, and defect tracking records.
• Collaborate with developers and project teams to resolve issues and ensure timely delivery of quality software.
• Follow SDLC, QALC, and Agile methodologies and contribute to continuous improvement in testing processes.

Required Skills

• 2+ years of experience in Software Testing or Quality Assurance.
• Strong hands-on experience in manual software testing (mandatory).
• Good understanding of SDLC, QALC, Agile methodologies, and software testing life cycles.
• Experience in functional, integration, regression, and system testing of web and mobile applications.
• Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools such as JIRA, Bugzilla, or Mantis.
• Good analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and manage testing priorities.

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to automation testing tools such as Selenium.
• Basic knowledge of API testing tools such as Postman and performance testing tools such as JMeter.
• Familiarity with SQL queries and database validation.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
