Software Tester

Responsibilities:

• Analyze requirements, user stories, and designs to identify test scenarios, coverage gaps and risks.
• Take full ownership of the QA process end-to-end, from requirement review and test planning through test case design and execution.
• Take the initiative to identify gaps and drive improvements in QA practices, without needing close supervision.
• Design, review, and execute manual test cases for web-based applications.
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts for UI and API testing.
• Decide and justify which test cases should be automated vs manual**.**
• Perform functional, regression, integration, smoke, and sanity testing**.**
• Plan and execute performance, load, and stress testing to evaluate system behavior under various conditions.
• Analyze test results, identify root causes, and collaborate with developers to resolve issues.
• Log, track, and manage defects with clear reproduction steps and supporting evidence.

Requirements:

Must-Have:

• 4 years and above of experience in software testing or quality assurance.
• Strong understanding of software testing fundamentals, defect lifecycle and test design techniques.
• Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of the full QA process, including requirement review, test planning, test case design, and execution.
• Self-motivated with strong initiative, comfortable driving QA activities forward proactively with minimal supervision.
• Hands-on experience testing web applications
• Hands-on experience with test automation for web and API testing.
• Proficiency in automation scriptingusing Python or similar languages.
• Experience with UI automation frameworks is a must (e.g. Selenium, Playwright, or equivalent).
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Solid knowledge of SQL backend data validation.
• Comfortable working in Linux/RHEL environments (log analysis, basic shell commands).
• Ability to handle ambiguous or evolving requirements and work effectively under tight deadlines.

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience in performance, load, and stress testing of web applications.
• Understanding of performance metrics such as response time, throughput, and error rate.

Other Information:

• Malaysian candidates only.
• Working hours: Monday to Friday 10am to 6pm.
• To come in office once a week, work from home on other days.
