Software Tester

Software Tester responsible for ensuring quality and reliability of software applications through systematic testing. Involves manual testing, bug identification, validation, and coordination with development teams to deliver error-free applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand project requirements, specifications, and user stories
• Prepare test plans, test cases, and test scenarios
• Perform manual testing of web, mobile, and desktop applications
• Identify, report, and track bugs using defect management tools
• Conduct functional, regression, integration, and system testing
• Work closely with developers and product teams to resolve issues
• Validate fixes and perform retesting
• Perform API testing and basic database validation
• Ensure software meets quality standards and client requirements
• Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and agile testing processes
• Document test results and maintain testing reports
• Support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) with clients
• Ensure application usability and performance
• Maintain test data and testing environments

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of STLC (Software Testing Life Cycle)
• Knowledge of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle)
• Experience in manual testing and bug tracking tools (e.g., JIRA)
• Basic knowledge of SQL and API testing
• Understanding of web technologies and databases
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail and documentation skills

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field

Experience

• 1–4 years of experience in software testing (Freshers with strong basics can apply)

Other Requirements

• Only candidates from Western Line (Mumbai suburban railway) preferred
• Good communication and coordination skills
• Ability to work in agile environment

• Number of defects identified
• Bug resolution and retesting time
• Test coverage and quality
• Release quality (minimum production issues)
• Documentation accuracy
