Our challenge

We are seeking an experienced ETL Test Engineer to validate and ensure the quality, accuracy, and integrity of data migrated and transformed across enterprise data platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in ETL testing, data validation, SQL, data warehousing concepts, and test automation.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $85k - $90k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and execute ETL test cases, test plans, and test scripts.
• Validate source-to-target data mapping and transformation logic.
• Perform data quality, data integrity, completeness, and reconciliation testing.
• Execute functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing for ETL processes.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data validation and analysis.
• Identify, document, track, and resolve defects through the defect lifecycle.
• Verify data movement across databases, data warehouses, and reporting systems.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to understand data requirements.
• Support automation initiatives for ETL and data testing processes.
• Prepare test reports and provide regular status updates to project teams.

Requirements:

• Strong experience in ETL Testing and Data Warehousing concepts.
• Hands-on experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend, DataStage, SSIS, or Azure Data Factory .
• Proficiency in SQL and database testing.
• Experience working with databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, Teradata, or MySQL .
• Strong understanding of data migration, data validation, and data reconciliation.
• Experience with defect management tools such as JIRA or ALM .
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
