Software Tester Engineer (Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS))

About the Role

On behalf of our client, an established Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) provider in Thailand, ASW Consulting is looking for a Global Test Software Engineer to join the Engineering & Test Development team. This role is responsible for building, deploying, and continuously improving automated test solutions that support production and product validation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain automated test software supporting production and validation, aligned with defined test specifications
• Create and fine-tune test programs using NI LabVIEW, NI TestStand, Python, or C++
• Interface test software with test fixtures, instruments, and communication protocols such as UART, CAN, Ethernet, Modbus, I²C, and SPI
• Support the rollout, troubleshooting, and ongoing upkeep of test systems on the production floor
• Drive improvements to test equipment and processes to strengthen quality, reliability, and productivity
• Provide support for New Product Introduction (NPI) activities and engineering change implementation
• Investigate test failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
• Develop and maintain test documentation, work procedures, and reports
• Partner with customers and cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues
• Oversee assigned test-development projects, reporting on status, risks, and progress

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a closely related field
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience within an EMS environment or the broader electronics manufacturing industry, with strong exposure to ICT/FCT (In-Circuit Test / Functional Circuit Test) development
• Solid programming ability in LabVIEW, TestStand, Python, and/or C++ for building automated test systems
• Good understanding of circuit schematics, circuit analysis, and hands-on familiarity with test & measurement instruments
• Demonstrated track record in test system development, NPI support, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement
• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset, together with solid project management and cross-functional communication skills
• Good command of English, both written and spoken

Reporting Line
This position reports to the Engineering & Test Development Manager.
