What they need
Job Summary:
We are a solar installation company serving residential and commercial customers, and we're seeking a proactive, highly organized Solar Operations Coordinator to own the administrative and operational backbone of our business. In the role you'll handle permitting, utility interconnection applications, and third-party ownership paperwork, coordinate service and warranty requests, and put in place the systems that keep our projects moving. We want a true self-starter who takes initiative, does well in a fast-moving environment, and can bring order to complex, shifting parts with minimal hand-holding.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draw up and file solar permit applications with local building departments and authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs)
- Complete, file, and follow utility interconnection applications with the relevant utility providers
- Handle third-party ownership (TPO) paperwork, covering leases and power purchase agreements (PPAs) with financing partners
- Coordinate service and warranty requests, including scheduling and follow-up with customers and installation crews
- Stand up and configure a CRM from scratch to organize leads, projects, and customer records
- Keep project documentation accurate and hold all applications, approvals, and records current
- Back marketing efforts that help generate and nurture leads
- Write up existing workflows and build standard operating procedures (SOPs) for recurring tasks
- Spot gaps proactively and put forward improvements across daily operations
Mandatory Skills:
- Demonstrated experience in administrative or operations support
- Ease handling detailed paperwork, applications, and government or regulatory forms
- Strong knack for learning and navigating online portals and application systems quickly
- Track record standing up or running a CRM
- Excellent organizational ability and sharp attention to detail
- A genuine self-starter who takes initiative and works with little supervision
- Dependable, precise, and capable of working independently
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Background in the solar, renewable energy, or construction industry
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with solar permitting, utility interconnection, or third-party ownership (TPO) paperwork
- Track record coordinating service, warranty, or after-sales support
- Marketing background (social media, email, or lead generation)
- Ability to document processes and build SOPs from scratch
- Capacity to run multiple projects and priorities concurrently
Why Join Us:
This is a chance to become the operational engine of an established, growing company where your work lands a direct and visible impact. You'll have the autonomy to build systems your own way, take genuine ownership of your responsibilities, and grow alongside the business. If bringing structure to fast-moving operations is what you love, the role gives you plenty of room to make it your own.
