Solar Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare solar PV system designs, layouts, single-line diagrams (SLD), and electrical drawings.
• Perform site assessments and analyze project requirements for solar installations.
• Conduct system sizing, energy yield calculations, and technical evaluations.
• Develop bill of materials (BOM), technical specifications, and project documentation.
• Coordinate with the engineering and operations teams during project execution.
• Ensure all designs comply with local electrical codes, safety standards, and utility requirements.
• Review and optimize system designs for efficiency, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
• Assist in securing permits and utility interconnection requirements when necessary.
• Coordinate with suppliers and contractors regarding technical concerns and material specifications.
• Provide technical support during installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Prepare as-built drawings and update project records upon completion.
• Stay updated with the latest solar technologies, products, and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Licensed Electrical Engineer is an advantage.
• At least 2–3 years of experience in solar PV design, electrical design, or related engineering work.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Helioscope, PVsyst, or similar design software.
• Knowledgeable in solar PV systems, electrical systems, and renewable energy standards.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects.
• Willing to conduct site visits when needed.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in Solar EPC projects.
• Familiarity with net metering and Philippine electrical standards is a plus.
• Knowledge of load analysis and energy consumption computation.
• Experience in preparing permit and utility documentation is a plus.
