Job Description

Twilight Engineering Solutions Ltd is looking for a skilled and motivated Solar Design Engineer to join our engineering team in Madurai. The candidate will be responsible for designing and developing solar PV systems for UK-based projects while ensuring compliance with relevant design standards and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop solar PV systems for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
• Prepare detailed solar layouts, single-line diagrams (SLD), electrical drawings, and design documentation.
• Perform PV system sizing, load calculations, cable sizing, voltage drop and protection calculations.
• Prepare and review technical drawings using AutoCAD and relevant solar design software.
• Coordinate with structural, electrical, and other engineering teams to resolve design and technical issues.
• Ensure designs comply with UK standards, regulations, and project specifications.
• Review project drawings, specifications, and client requirements.
• Prepare design reports, documentation, and material/BOQ requirements when required.
• Support project teams during design development and technical revisions.
• Maintain accuracy and quality of all engineering deliverables.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of Solar PV system design and engineering.
• Knowledge of PV modules, inverters, mounting systems, string configuration, and electrical components.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Experience with solar design tools/software such as PVsyst, Helioscope, or similar is preferred.
• Knowledge of electrical design, SLDs, cable sizing and protection systems.
• Familiarity with UK standards and regulations is an advantage.
• Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team.

Education & Experience

• BE/B.Tech/Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication, Renewable Energy, or related engineering discipline.
• 2–4 years of relevant experience in Solar PV Design/Engineering.
• Freshers with strong technical knowledge and relevant project/internship experience may also be considered.
