Brief Description of the Role

As an Electrical Engineer you will be primarily responsible for solar system design preparation, net-metering application processing, quality assurance and quality control, and commissioning across all company projects.

You will provide engineering support and technical oversight for 8Gen Power, Inc.'s solar PV projects, ensuring that systems are properly designed, installed, inspected, tested, commissioned, and documented.

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct site surveys and assess electricity consumption, load profiles, existing electrical installations, available roof or installation areas, shading, and grid-connection conditions
• Prepare system-sizing calculations and technical recommendations for grid-tied, hybrid, and battery energy storage systems
• Prepare engineering calculations, panel layouts, single-line diagrams, string configurations, cable sizing, voltage-drop calculations, protection requirements, grounding arrangements, and equipment specifications
• Manage the technical preparation, submission, tracking, and follow-up of net-metering applications for eligible projects
• Develop and implement standard inspection checklists and inspection and test plans for all company projects
• Inspect materials and equipment to verify conformity with approved specifications and conduct inspections at critical installation stages
• Plan and lead testing and commissioning for all company projects, coordinating site personnel and specialists as required
• Compile as-built drawings, equipment records, warranties, test reports, operating instructions, and other turnover documents
• Train clients on basic system operation, monitoring, shutdown procedures, and reporting of faults
• Assist management in preparing technical personnel records, project experience documents, and other requirements for PCAB licensing and applicable DOE applications

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
• Registered Electrical Engineer with a valid PRC license
• At least three years of documented relevant experience in electrical construction, installation, supervision, testing, or commissioning
• Demonstrated experience in solar PV projects, including system design preparation and site implementation
• Practical experience preparing or processing net-metering applications and coordinating with distribution utilities or electric cooperatives
• Working knowledge of the Philippine Electrical Code, applicable electrical safety requirements, and utility interconnection procedures
• Ability to prepare and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, equipment specifications, and engineering calculations
• Knowledge of solar PV sizing, string design, cable selection, protection, grounding, inverter operation, and battery integration
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or equivalent drafting software and Microsoft Excel
• Ability to use electrical test instruments safely and interpret test results

Pay: Php26,000.00 - Php30,000.00 per month
