Solar Engineer

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Supervise and execute on-site installation activities for solar power projects.
2. Monitor the installation of solar PV modules, mounting structures, inverters, DC/AC cables, earthing, and other electrical components.
3. Ensure project execution as per approved drawings, technical specifications, and quality standards.
4. Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and project managers for smooth site operations.
5. Monitor daily site progress and prepare daily progress reports (DPR).
6. Ensure proper installation, testing, and commissioning of solar power systems.
7. Check material availability at the site and coordinate with the store and procurement teams.
8. Identify technical issues at the site and coordinate with the concerned team for timely resolution.
9. Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, site safety procedures, and company policies.
10. Maintain site records, material consumption reports, inspection reports, and work completion documentation.
11. Monitor manpower productivity and ensure work is completed within the project timeline.
12. Coordinate with the quality team for inspections and rectify any deviations or defects.
13. Assist in conducting pre-commissioning checks and troubleshooting electrical and solar system issues.
14. Conduct regular site inspections to ensure proper utilization of materials and resources.

Required Skills

• Knowledge of solar PV systems and solar project execution.
• Understanding of electrical drawings, SLDs, layouts, and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of DC/AC cabling, earthing, inverter installation, and solar module mounting structures.
• Ability to coordinate with contractors and manage site activities.
• Good communication, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of MS Excel and preparation of daily progress reports.
• Awareness of electrical safety standards and quality control procedures.
• Willingness to travel and work at project locations as required.

Educational Qualification and Experience

• Diploma or B.Tech/B.E. in Electrical Engineering.
• 25 years of relevant experience in solar project execution, installation, or site supervision.
