We undertake rooftop solar EPC projects with a strong focus on engineering excellence, quality, safety, customer satisfaction and end-to-end project execution.

We are looking for an experienced, technically sound and accountable solar professional to take complete ownership of our solar projects, from initial feasibility assessment through successful commissioning and handover.

The Role

We are seeking a hands-on Solar Project Engineer / Project Execution Lead with substantial experience in solar power projects, including MW-scale installations.

The candidate must be capable of independently managing technical feasibility, engineering, procurement coordination, site execution, electrical integration, statutory and utility coordination, quality control, testing and commissioning.

This is an ownership-driven role for someone who understands the practical realities of solar EPC execution and can deliver projects safely, efficiently and within committed timelines.

Key Responsibilities

1. Feasibility & Technical Assessment

* Conduct detailed site surveys and technical feasibility assessments for solar projects.

* Evaluate shadow patterns, solar irradiation, roof and structural suitability, wind loads, electrical infrastructure and site constraints.

* Assess energy consumption, system sizing, generation potential and project-specific technical requirements.

* Identify technical risks and recommend appropriate engineering solutions.

2. Engineering & Project Planning

* Prepare and review system designs, single-line diagrams (SLDs), layouts, cable sizing, protection schemes, earthing and lightning protection.

* Develop detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs), technical specifications and installation plans.

* Coordinate module, inverter, mounting structure, cable and electrical equipment selection.

* Prepare project schedules, manpower plans, material requirements and execution milestones.

3. Site Execution & Installation

* Take complete responsibility for on-site execution of assigned solar projects.

* Supervise installation of solar modules, mounting structures, inverters, DC/AC cabling, electrical panels, earthing and associated systems.

* Manage subcontractors, technicians, electricians, site teams and material movement.

* Ensure workmanship, safety standards, technical compliance and adherence to project timelines.

* Conduct regular site inspections and resolve technical and execution-related issues.

4. Electrical, Utility & Statutory Coordination

* Coordinate with KSEB and other relevant authorities for applicable approvals, inspections, metering and grid connectivity.

* Ensure compliance with applicable electrical safety requirements, utility standards and relevant MNRE scheme requirements, wherever applicable.

* Coordinate protection systems, synchronisation, metering and grid-interconnection requirements.

5. Testing, Commissioning & Handover

* Lead pre-commissioning inspections, electrical testing, inverter configuration and commissioning activities.

* Verify system performance, generation monitoring, protection settings and operational readiness.

* Troubleshoot faults and coordinate corrective actions.

* Ensure complete documentation, as-built drawings, test reports, warranties and client handover.

* Support post-commissioning troubleshooting and performance-related issues.

6. Project Ownership & Reporting

* Own project delivery from feasibility to commissioning, including quality, safety, cost and schedule.

* Track material requirements, consumption, wastage, manpower productivity and project progress.

* Identify delays and cost overruns early and implement corrective measures.

* Provide timely project updates to management and coordinate effectively with sales, procurement, finance and operations teams.

* Maintain professional communication with clients, contractors, vendors and utility officials.

Mandatory Qualifications & Experience

* Diploma / B.Tech / B.E. in Electrical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering; candidates with a relevant technical qualification and strong solar EPC execution experience may also be considered.

* Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in the solar industry, preferably with an established solar EPC company.

* Demonstrable experience in KW & MW-scale solar project execution is essential. Candidates must specify the project capacities handled and their individual responsibilities.

* Strong practical knowledge of solar PV systems, electrical design, installation, testing and commissioning.

* Experience with grid-connected rooftop solar systems and commercial/industrial (C&I) solar projects.

* Working knowledge of SLDs, BOM preparation, cable sizing, earthing, protection systems and electrical troubleshooting.

* Experience coordinating site teams, subcontractors, procurement and utility approvals.

* Willingness to travel extensively across project locations.

* Strong ownership, problem-solving, planning and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience executing projects from initial feasibility through final commissioning without continuous supervision.

* Exposure to projects of 1 MW and above, including C&I rooftops and/or ground-mounted solar installations.

* Familiarity with applicable KSEB procedures, MNRE requirements, grid interconnection and net-metering processes.

* Knowledge of project costing, material reconciliation, quality assurance, safety audits and commissioning documentation.

* Experience with multiple inverter and solar module brands.
