Solar Field Technician

MW ENERGY LLC is hiring an Entry-Level Solar Field Technician to support our Ontario, California field-service team.

You will work directly with an experienced Senior Solar Technician and receive hands-on training in commercial solar inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and commissioning support.

Solar experience is helpful but not required. We are looking for someone who is reliable, mechanically inclined, comfortable using tools, and interested in building a long-term career in solar and electrical field service.

What You Will Do

• Assist a Senior Solar Technician on commercial solar projects
• Inspect solar panels, wiring, connectors, inverters, and related equipment
• Assist with preventive and corrective maintenance
• Help replace connectors, wiring, modules, and other components
• Use basic hand and power tools
• Take project photos and complete field checklists
• Keep tools and work areas organized
• Follow PPE, LOTO, JHA/JSA, and site safety procedures
• Learn basic electrical testing and solar troubleshooting
• Support BESS and other electrical projects after training
• Travel to project sites as required

What We Are Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Comfortable using basic hand and power tools
• Comfortable working outdoors, on rooftops, and around electrical equipment
• Able to lift approximately 50 lbs.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions
• Comfortable using a smartphone and basic computer applications
• Willing to learn electrical and solar troubleshooting
• Willing to travel for field projects when required
• Authorized to work in the United States

Preferred, But Not Required

Any of the following is a plus:

• Solar installation or maintenance experience
• Electrical helper/apprentice experience
• Construction or mechanical experience
• Multimeter experience
• OSHA 10
• First Aid/CPR
• LOTO or NFPA 70E training
• Forklift or aerial lift experience

We will consider candidates without solar experience who demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude, safety awareness, reliability, and willingness to learn.

Career Development

This position is designed as a technical development role.

You will initially work under an experienced technician and can progress based on demonstrated competency:

Entry-Level Technician → Solar Field Technician → Independent Technician → Senior Technician / Team Lead

Work Environment

This is a field-based position. Work may include commercial rooftops, solar facilities, warehouses, schools, retail facilities, and other customer sites.

Some projects may require overnight or out-of-state travel.
