What they need

About Us

Founded in October 2019 by a close-knit family with deep roots in renewable energy and alternative fuels, CrowdHouse Energy Limited is rethinking what commercial parking can do. Instead of asphalt and shade nets, we install our patented bi-facial PV freestanding canopy system — structures that shelter vehicles while turning otherwise wasted space into clean power generation.

We're a small, tight team united by one goal: a decarbonised, sustainable world. If you want your day-to-day work to actually move the needle on that, you'll fit right in here.

The Role: Lead Solar Installer

We need someone who can run a solar install from the ground up — literally and figuratively. You'll lead teams of installers on commercial PV projects across the UK, from first site visit through to final sign-off, keeping safety, quality and efficiency on track the whole way.

On any given project, you'll:

  • Plan, coordinate and lead the installation of solar PV systems on commercial sites
  • Lead the team — setting the pace, tracking performance against safety, efficiency, quality and productivity metrics
  • Carry out site assessments to work out the best layout and placement for panels
  • Own safety on site: enforcing protocols, running toolbox talks and briefing the team before work starts
  • Work closely with the design team so what gets built matches what was planned
  • Troubleshoot and maintain PV systems already in the ground
  • Keep projects compliant with the relevant regulations and standards
  • Handle the paperwork — quality reports, safety documentation, inspection records
  • Be the face of the project when clients have questions or concerns
  • Keep half an eye on where the industry's heading — new products, new techniques, new standards

You'll need:

  • At least 2 years hands-on in solar or construction (preferred)
  • Confidence with hand tools and reading technical drawings/specs
  • The physical fitness for working with large materials and equipment
  • A sharp eye for detail and the judgement to work without someone looking over your shoulder
  • A genuine, not just tick-box, commitment to H&S and PPE

Also worth knowing:

  • Right to work in the UK and/or EU, fluent English
  • Willing to travel to sites around the UK
  • SSSTS/SMSTS or equivalent is a plus

What's In It For You

  • Competitive salary plus performance-based bonuses
  • Your birthday off, paid
  • 28 days holiday (bank holidays included) plus Christmas shutdown
  • Company pension

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne (on-site)

Join a company small enough that your work is visible and large enough that it matters — where the projects you build are literally reshaping how commercial spaces generate power.

Pay: £37,500.00-£45,000.00 per year

Work Location: In person
