Job Title: Solar PV Roofer / Panel Installer

About Us
Green Energy Solar & Electrical Ltd installs domestic solar PV and battery storage across Wales, including government-funded retrofit schemes such as ECO4, LA Flex, GBIS and RISE PPA. We’re growing fast and looking for roofers and panel installers to join our installation teams.

The Role
You’ll install solar PV mounting systems and panels on domestic roofs as part of a small installation team, working alongside our electricians and scaffolders. You’ll travel to sites across the region. A company van is provided, along with free on-site parking at our unit.

Key Responsibilities

• Install roof hooks, brackets, rails and mounting systems on tiled and slate roofs
• Lift, position and fix solar panels safely and neatly
• Run and clip DC cabling along the array and roof (final connections done by our electricians)
• Maintain roof integrity: replace tiles and slates correctly, flash and weatherproof around fixings
• Work safely at height using scaffold access and fall protection
• Keep the roof, scaffold and customer’s property clean and tidy
• Take site photos and complete job documentation as required
• Report any roof defects, damage or issues to the team lead
• Travel to sites across Wales as required, with overnight stays for distant jobs

Requirements

• Experience in roofing, solar panel installation or a similar trade
• Comfortable working at height on domestic roofs every day
• CSCS card (essential) and Working at Height training
• Full UK driving licence (essential, due to travel)
• Physically fit and able to carry panels and materials
• Reliable, punctual and careful with customers’ homes
• Able to work as part of a team and follow instructions

Desirable (not essential)

• Previous solar PV mounting or panel installation experience
• Slate and tile roofing experience
• PASMA, IPAF or scaffold-related training
• Experience on ECO4, LA Flex, GBIS or similar retrofit schemes
