Role Description The Solar Proposal Designer (Aurora Solar) is a full-time, on-site role based in Arizona, United States. This role is responsible for creating accurate and visually compelling solar proposals using Aurora Solar and related design tools, including system layouts, energy production estimates, and financial savings analyses. The Solar Proposal Designer collaborates with sales and operations teams to interpret site data, utility information, and customer requirements, then converts them into professional proposals that support sales efforts and customer decision-making. Daily tasks include reviewing project details, validating system designs for feasibility and compliance, updating proposal templates, and ensuring that all documentation is consistent, clear, and aligned with company standards. The role also involves maintaining organized records of proposals, communicating timelines, and proactively suggesting design improvements that optimize performance and customer value.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with solar design and proposal tools such as Aurora Solar or similar platforms, including system layout, shading analysis, and energy production modeling.
• Strong technical understanding of residential and/or commercial solar systems, including modules, inverters, racking, and basic electrical and structural considerations.
• Ability to interpret site surveys, utility bills, and local codes to produce accurate proposals and documentation that meet regulatory and company standards.
• Solid skills in data analysis, attention to detail, and quality control to validate system performance estimates and financial savings calculations.
• Effective written and visual communication skills for creating clear, customer-facing proposal documents and collaborating with sales and operations teams.
• Comfort with using productivity and collaboration software (e.g., CRM systems, spreadsheets, presentation tools, project management platforms).
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple proposal requests, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work on-site in Arizona, United States, and coordinate with cross-functional teams in a professional and inclusive manner.
• Experience in the solar or renewable energy industry is highly beneficial; prior work with remote design or proposal generation is a plus.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, renewable energy, design, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
