What they need

POSITION OVERVIEW

Commercial Solar Site Superintendent — Field-based, Massachusetts

CSG Developers LLC is hiring a Site Superintendent to run our commercial solar job sites across eastern MA and RI, on site 4 to 5 days a week.

This hire is central to our next stage of growth. We built CSG as a small, tight team; to scale, we need field operations that match larger-industry standards: consistent daily reporting, structured safety programs, and repeatable sequencing and closeout. You will help build those practices, not just follow them.

We are a licensed GC with in-house electrical, building ground-mount, rooftop and carport systems for universities, the US military, municipalities and commercial owners.

This is not a remote or office PM role. If you have run sites and held subs to a schedule, read on.

WHERE YOU FIT

Reports to: Sena Oran, Director of Construction Operations

Works alongside: Scott Robbins (Field Electrician / O&M Lead) and our electrical and solar subcontractors

Coordinates with: Benjie Borra (GC / Engineering / Design), Richelle (Interconnection / Operations), John Weaver (GM)

WHAT A TYPICAL WEEK LOOKS LIKE

  • On site 4 to 5 days across 3 to 6 active projects (eastern MA and RI; occasional NH and CT).
  • Mornings: safety talk, site walk with sub foremen, confirm work and deliveries.
  • Days: solve field issues, check installs against drawings, take photos, receive equipment.
  • End of day: Procore daily log and photos.
  • A few times a month: inspections, utility walk-throughs, customer site meetings.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Run the site

  • Coordinate with sub crews daily on sequencing, manpower and goals.
  • Hold electrical, racking and civil subs to schedule, scope and quality.
  • Catch install errors against plans and single-lines before they are covered.
  • Receive and stage materials and rentals (containers, lifts, telehandlers).
  • Drive punch lists, commissioning and closeout.
  • Represent CSG at AHJ inspections and utility walk-throughs.

Safety

  • Run pre-task planning and tailgate talks; enforce standards on every crew.
  • Own safety documentation, OSHA records and incident reports.
  • Build one consistent safety culture with our in-house field electrician.

Communication

  • Daily Procore logs during critical phases; weekly otherwise.
  • Flag delays and scope changes when they become possible, not once confirmed.
  • Track field RFIs and change orders; coordinate deliveries with procurement.
  • Join customer calls where a project has them.

MUST HAVES

  • 5+ years on active construction sites as a super, assistant super, foreman or field lead (solar, electrical, civil or commercial).
  • Experience directing multiple sub crews at once.
  • Enough electrical knowledge to hold electrical subs accountable (no license required, though preferred).
  • Can read construction drawings and electrical plans.
  • Within commuting distance of eastern MA & RI; on site 4 to 5 days a week.
  • Comfortable with Procore (or similar) and Google Drive on a phone or tablet.
  • Valid driver's license; OSHA 30, or willing to get it within 90 days.

STRONG ADVANTAGES

Lead with any of these; they shape scope, title and pay.

  • Journeyman or Master Electrician license (Master especially valuable).
  • Commercial solar install experience: ground-mount, rooftop or carport.
  • NABCEP certification.
  • Federal, military or municipal projects (we have built at Harvard and Hanscom AFB).
  • Leading a self-performed crew, as we grow that scope.
  • Solar estimating: takeoffs and cost modeling.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Base salary $90,000 to $130,000 by experience and licenses
  • Performance bonus tied to project outcomes
  • Company vehicle (leased Ioniq 5 EV) or mileage reimbursement
  • Health and dental, 100% employer-paid
  • Company phone or tablet
  • A path to senior super or construction manager as we scale from $10M toward $15 to $20M
