Solar Site Surveyor

Job Overview:

Eco Energy Improvements is seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Solar PV Site Surveyor to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting on-site assessments to gather critical data used in the design, quotation, and installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. Your work ensures the feasibility, efficiency, and safety of every installation we undertake.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct on-site surveys of rooftops and surrounding property to determine suitability for solar PV installations.
• Measure roof dimensions, pitch, orientation, and shading using industry-standard tools and drone.
• Assess structural integrity and accessibility of roofs.
• Evaluate electrical systems including service panels, breakers, and existing loads.
• Collect detailed photographs and complete digital survey forms on-site.
• Liaise with homeowners or site contacts to explain the survey process and answer basic questions about the installation.
• Coordinate with design and installation teams to provide accurate data for system design.
• Ensure surveys are completed on schedule and to the highest standards of accuracy and professionalism.
• Follow all company health and safety policies, especially regarding working at height.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Experience in a similar surveying, roofing, or solar PV role is preferred but not essential.
• Solid understanding of solar PV systems, including components and installation methods beneficial.
• Comfortable working at heights and using ladders, harnesses, and surveying tools.
• Excellent attention to detail and time management.
• Full clean driving licence
• Great interpersonal and communication skills.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Working at heights certification or willingness to complete necessary training.
• Roofing/Construction and/or electrical background.
• Knowledge of solar PV systems and components.
• Manual Handling certification.
