Solar Technician

• Install, maintain, inspect, and repair solar PV systems, including solar panels, inverters, mounting structures, DC/AC cables, and related equipment.
• Perform installation and commissioning of solar PV systems according to approved drawings and specifications.
• Conduct electrical testing and troubleshooting of solar systems to identify faults and performance issues.
• Diagnose and rectify problems related to inverters, solar panels, batteries, cables, breakers, and protection systems.
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of solar installations.
• Monitor system performance and identify abnormalities or potential failures.
• Perform voltage, current, insulation resistance, continuity, and other required electrical tests.
• Ensure proper cable termination, connections, earthing, and electrical protection.
• Read and understand electrical drawings, single-line diagrams (SLD), layouts, and technical documents.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, testing, and repairs.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with approved procedures, project specifications, and safety standards.
• Follow all HSE and electrical safety requirements, including proper use of PPE.
• Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, and other technicians during installation and maintenance activities.
• Assist with site inspections, testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
• Report technical issues, equipment failures, and required spare parts to the supervisor.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Perform other duties related to solar installation and maintenance as assigned.

Desired Candidate Profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or associate's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
• NABCEP (North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners) certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in solar panel installation, maintenance, and repair.
• Prior experience in the residential or commercial solar industry.
