Solar Technician

CAD Services, LLC is a veteran-owned and family-operated company specializing in residential solar installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. We are seeking a skilled and dependable Solar Service Technician to join our growing team.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing residential solar systems, strong technical troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently. This position requires attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and a professional approach to customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair residential solar photovoltaic (PV) systems.
• Inspect, service, and replace inverters, optimizers, microinverters, solar panels, and related equipment.
• Identify and resolve system performance issues, communication failures, and monitoring problems.
• Perform system inspections, preventative maintenance, and equipment replacements.
• Troubleshoot and service battery storage and backup power systems.
• Work with manufacturers to diagnose equipment failures and complete warranty-related repairs.
• Use manufacturer monitoring platforms and diagnostic tools to evaluate system performance.
• Read and interpret electrical diagrams, system layouts, and manufacturer specifications.
• Document service findings, completed repairs, and equipment recommendations.
• Communicate professionally with customers regarding system issues and service outcomes.
• Follow applicable electrical codes, OSHA standards, and company safety procedures.
• Travel to residential customer locations within assigned service areas.

Required Qualifications

• Previous experience in solar installation, service, maintenance, or electrical troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of residential solar PV systems and their components.
• Ability to diagnose technical issues and perform repairs with minimal supervision.
• Experience using electrical testing equipment and diagnostic tools.
• Ability to read and understand electrical diagrams and technical documentation.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work safely on rooftops, climb ladders, and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Dependable, punctual, and committed to quality workmanship.
• Willingness to travel to customer locations as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SolarEdge, Enphase, Generac, and other solar equipment manufacturers.
• Experience replacing and troubleshooting inverters, optimizers, and microinverters.
• Knowledge of battery storage systems and backup power equipment.
• Experience with solar monitoring platforms and system commissioning.
• Familiarity with manufacturer warranty procedures and equipment replacement.
• OSHA training, NABCEP certification, or relevant manufacturer certifications.
