Job Title: SolarWinds Engineer

Job Summary:

The SolarWinds Engineer is responsible for administering, monitoring, and maintaining the SolarWinds platform to ensure the availability and performance of the organization’s IT infrastructure. The role involves troubleshooting monitoring issues, responding to system alerts, and supporting the overall health of network and server environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer, configure, and maintain the SolarWinds monitoring platform.
• Monitor and troubleshoot network devices, servers, and firewall infrastructure through the SolarWinds platform.
• Perform daily system health checks and onboard new devices into the monitoring environment.
• Investigate and resolve monitoring alerts and technical issues.
• Provide Level 1 and Level 2 support and escalate complex issues when necessary.
• Configure and maintain dashboards, alerts, reports, and monitoring thresholds.
• Work with infrastructure and operations teams to improve system performance and monitoring coverage.
• Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, procedures, and issue resolutions.
• Coordinate with network and security teams to investigate connectivity, performance and firewall-related monitoring issues.
• Assist in monitoring firewall availability, performance, and health, and escalate security or configuration issues when necessary.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in IT infrastructure, Network Operations Center (NOC), or systems monitoring.
• Hands-on experience with SolarWinds administration and monitoring.
• Working knowledge of firewalls, TCP/IP networking, DNS, routing, and Windows/Linux environments.
• Experience monitoring network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls using SolarWinds or similar monitoring tools.
• Basic understanding of firewall concepts, including rules, ports, protocols, and connectivity troubleshooting.
