Soldermask Operator

Winonics is seeking a Soldermask Operator to join our PCB manufacturing team in Brea, California. This position performs soldermask processing on printed circuit boards (PCBs), including panel preparation, application, imaging/exposure, developing, curing, and inspection.

The ideal candidate has PCB manufacturing experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to follow travelers, work instructions, and process specifications in a fast-paced production environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Review travelers, work orders, process instructions, and specifications before processing PCB panels.
• Prepare and pre-clean PCB panels and verify the correct materials, films, artwork, screens, and job setup.
• Set up and operate soldermask equipment, including screen printers/coaters, imaging or exposure units, developing equipment, and curing ovens.
• Apply and process soldermask while maintaining proper coverage, thickness, and registration.
• Perform screen imaging and hand registration as required.
• Monitor exposure, developing, curing, bake time, temperature, and other required process parameters.
• Perform visual and in-process inspections to identify defects such as pinholes, contamination, incomplete coverage, and misregistration.
• Accurately record production activity, inspection results, and process information.
• Perform routine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance of equipment, tools, and work areas.
• Follow all safety, chemical-handling, PPE, quality, and manufacturing procedures.
• Work with Production, Quality, and Engineering to address process or quality issues and maintain production flow.
• Perform other related duties as needed to support production.

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of PCB manufacturing, soldermask, screening, or related PCB fabrication experience preferred.
• Ability to read and follow travelers, work orders, manufacturing instructions, and process specifications.
• Experience with soldermask application, screen printing, imaging/exposure, developing, or curing equipment preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and visual inspection skills.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to operate manufacturing equipment.
• Basic computer and data-entry skills.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work overtime or weekends when required to meet production needs.

PhysicalWork Environment Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Ability to safely lift and handle materials weighing up to 25 lbs.
• Ability to work in a PCB manufacturing environment around production equipment and chemicals.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves and safety glasses/goggles, and other protective equipment as required.
