You will be supported and mentored by some of the leading lawyers in this practice area, giving you the tools and experience to grow into a trusted adviser. If you are this sort of person, we want to talk to you.
About the role
The role is part of our Transactional team, who advises key industry participants on all aspects of the planning, procurement, tendering and delivery of major projects and works programmes. You will work closely with our partners and senior lawyers, supporting an impressive, growing client base that includes central and local government, listed companies, financial institutions and private businesses.
The projects span a broad range of infrastructure and commercial sectors, including transport, energy, utilities, and large-scale office, residential, retail and industrial developments.
You will:
- Work as part of project teams advising clients in both the private and public sectors on significant construction and infrastructure transactions
- Assist in the drafting, review and negotiation of construction and infrastructure contracts across a range of standard and bespoke forms (including NZS 3910 and other industry-standard agreements)
- Conduct research and provide well-reasoned advice on transactional and regulatory matters
- Assist with procurement structures, tendering processes and risk allocation advice on major project delivery.
- Work directly with clients and their project teams under the supervision and guidance of partners and senior lawyers
About you
You will be an intellectually sharp and commercially astute lawyer who is eager to develop your expertise in a leading construction and infrastructure practice. You will bring 1 - 3 years PQE in transactional or advisory work, ideally in construction, infrastructure, or commercial practice areas involving complex contract review and preparation.
You will demonstrate excellent drafting skills, a keen eye for detail, and a proactive, self-motivated approach to managing your workload. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, together with a genuine passion for developing and nurturing client relationships.
