SolidWorks Designer

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative SolidWorks Designer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating detailed 3D models, technical drawings, and comprehensive CAD documentation to support the design, development, and manufacturing of mechanical systems and products. Your expertise in mechanical drafting, system design, and SolidWorks software will be instrumental in transforming conceptual ideas into precise, manufacturable solutions. Duties

• Develop detailed 3D models and assemblies using SolidWorks
• Create accurate 2D mechanical drawings, schematics, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and system layouts adhering to ASME codes & standards
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to translate design concepts into functional models while ensuring mechanical integrity and manufacturability
• Generate CAD documentation for manufacturing, assembly instructions, and technical reports with precision and clarity
• Maintain organized CAD files within PDM (Product Data Management) software systems for version control and collaboration

Skills

• Extensive experience with SolidWorks is essential
• Proficiency in 2D CAD drafting and 3D modeling for product design across various mechanical applications
• Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, system design, piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), schematics, and mechanical systems design
• Understanding of GD&T standards for precise manufacturing tolerances and quality control
• Experience with FEA analysis to evaluate structural integrity under different load conditions is a plus
• Knowledge of ASME codes & standards relevant to mechanical design and fabrication processes is plus
• Ability to produce clear technical writing including assembly instructions and CAD documentation
• Mechanical knowledge applicable to system design involving piping, instrumentation, or complex mechanical assemblies

Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
