Solution Architect

Major Belgian Bank is seeking a Solution Architect with experience or a strong interest in Know Your Customer (KYC) and/or Mortgages. The role focuses on establishing resilient solution architectures for business and IT challenges aligned with the bank's strategy. You will join a team of Solution Architects and Domain Architects within the Architecture Centre of Excellence, collaborating with multiple stakeholders to accelerate feature delivery across Tribes.

Missions

• Work closely with IT and Business stakeholders, understanding the correlation and dependencies between their activities.

• Create designs in collaboration with engineers and Domain Architects, guiding them through deployment.

• Own the end-to-end architecture of KYC and/or Mortgages capabilities, ensuring regulatory compliance, coherent business processes, data flows, and IT solutions.

• Drive complex changes or projects within and across Tribes, translating business requirements into sequences that deliver customer value early.

• Define and align roadmaps between squads across Tribes and other organizational units, managing dependencies thoroughly.

• Act as the connecting pin between colleagues with diverse expertise in self-steering teams (IT Integrators, Solution Architects, Engineers, Domain Architects, Product Owners, Squad Masters, Developers, Customer Journey Experts, etc.).

• Drive the solution approach together with squads, leveraging in-depth knowledge of business and IT — architecture, application landscapes, infrastructure, operations, and legislation.

Working Conditions

• Location: Brussels (Hybrid – 50% office presence)

1. 3 to 5+ years of relevant professional experience in solution architecture, software engineering or IT delivery
2. Affinity with architectural practices, solution design and translating business requirements into sustainable technology solutions
3. TOGAF, ArchiMate and/or Public Cloud certifications are a plus
4. Broad interest in banking technology; knowledge of KYC or Mortgages domains is an asset
5. Proficient in English (corporate language) and Dutch or French
6. Strong behavioural competencies: collaboration, communication, stakeholder management, innovation, and the ability to navigate complexity and drive pragmatic decision-making
7. Strong technical competencies: architecture principles, data, privacy, security, scalability, performance, resilience, cost and ethics
8. Able to work autonomously and act as a trusted advisor and sparring partner for engineers, product teams and fellow architects
9. Ability to design end-to-end solutions, balance functional and non-functional requirements, and document architectural decisions clearly
