Solution Architect, Azure

Solution Architect

City of London, hybrid | Permanent | Financial services

To Circa £120k with bonus and competive benefits

Highly global and prestigious financial services firm is building its solution architecture function. They are hiring two Solution Architects as part of a function build-out.

The work

You will own solution design across a primary business unit while sitting in a shared central pool that flexes across the firm. Requirements through to design documentation, patterns and standards, threat modelling, consulting into project and DevOps teams, and hands on prototyping where a design needs proving rather than describing.

Microsoft and Azure centric, roughly 60/40 cloud to on premise and moving further cloud first. Global IT function of around 160 people.

What we are looking for

• You have written production code in C#, Python, Java, Go or Rust and can talk about what you built
• Application level architecture: business applications, integration, APIs, data flows. If your recent work is landing zones, network design or platform engineering, this is not the role
• Breadth across platforms. A long career on one stack will struggle here
• A method you can describe out loud, from business requirement to approved design, naming your artefacts and tools
• AI in your own daily workflow, Copilot, Claude, Codex or similar. What used to take a day now takes an hour. Delivering an AI product for a client is a different thing
• Five years plus across at least two solution development disciplines, and as comfortable with a business audience as a technical one
