Solution Architect

As an Expert / Principal Solution Architect , you will design modern software and cloud architectures for challenging customer projects – from defining the target architecture and making architectural decisions to design reviews and providing technical guidance throughout implementation.

You are not just an architect: you are a technical sparring partner for our customers , working with them to develop robust solution architectures and bringing your expertise into the pre-sales process from an early stage. You will lead technical discussions and workshops with experienced stakeholders, including C-level executives , understand complex requirements, and translate them into reliable technical solutions.

As a medium-sized software consulting company, we support digital product development from the initial idea through implementation and commercialization – either as part of the customer’s team or with responsibility for the entire solution.

What you can expect:

• Responsibility for the solution and system architecture of modern software and cloud solutions in challenging customer projects
• Technical consulting in pre-sales – from initial architecture discussions and workshops through solution design, technical presentations, POCs and proposals
• Consulting and collaboration on an equal footing with technical decision-makers and C-level stakeholders , including on complex technical issues
• Technical leadership through architecture reviews, design reviews and code walkthroughs , as well as close collaboration with development teams
• Early identification of technical risks and development of appropriate measures to mitigate them
• Translating complex business and technical requirements into robust solution architectures
• Designing and evaluating scalable, cloud-native architectures , including microservices, API-first, event-driven and distributed architectures
• Creating and maintaining architecture documentation, data flows, interfaces and technical standards
• Leading technical workshops, facilitating knowledge transfer and supporting teams and colleagues
• Evaluating new technologies and their practical applications in customer solutions

What you bring:

• A university degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or a comparable field
• Several years of proven expertise in designing complex solution and system architectures
• Strong engineering expertise and an in-depth understanding of software development and technical implementation
• In-depth understanding and practical experience across the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) – from requirements and architecture through development and testing to deployment, operations and continuous improvement
• Deep understanding of modern software architecture and the ability to make well-founded architectural decisions, explain and justify them, and advocate for them with technical stakeholders
• Proven experience with microservices, distributed systems, API design / API-first, event-driven architectures and integration architectures
• Extensive practical experience with cloud-native architectures and containerization, ideally with Azure, Docker and Kubernetes
• Solid understanding of modern CI/CD, DevOps, IaC and observability concepts
• The ability to read code, quickly understand technical interdependencies and discuss architecture and implementation with developers on an equal footing
• Proven experience in technical pre-sales / solution consulting and a genuine interest in advising customers on complex technical decisions and winning them over to solutions
• Confident communication with technical decision-makers and C-level stakeholders, with the ability to communicate complex technical topics in a clear, compelling and audience-appropriate way
• Very good German skills ( C1 ) and English skills ( B2 )
• Willingness to travel frequently to customer sites in Germany, or willingness to relocate to Germany
