About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Solutions Architect to lead the end-to-end technical design of complex, multi-service platforms within the financial services domain.

In this role, you will bridge business requirements and engineering execution, translating functional and regulatory needs into scalable, secure, and resilient technical architectures. You will work closely with clients, engineering teams, security stakeholders, and delivery leaders to define architectural standards, guide implementation, and ensure solutions align with business objectives.

This is an on-site opportunity based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia , requiring strong technical leadership, hands-on architectural expertise, and excellent stakeholder communication.

Key Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end solution architecture across applications, data, integrations, security, and deployment.
• Translate business and regulatory requirements into clear architectural designs and technical decisions.
• Develop and maintain architecture documentation, including architecture vision, high-level designs, integration specifications, and architecture decision records.
• Define service boundaries, API contracts, data ownership, and event-driven communication patterns.
• Design integrations with external and third-party systems while maintaining clear boundaries between core platforms and external dependencies.
• Establish non-functional requirements covering scalability, availability, performance, resilience, and observability.
• Incorporate security and compliance requirements into solution architecture in collaboration with security and risk teams.
• Lead architecture and design reviews, guide engineering leads, and ensure implementation aligns with approved designs.
• Assess technologies and vendors, providing evidence-based recommendations and documenting technical trade-offs.
• Identify and manage architectural risks, assumptions, dependencies, and outstanding decisions.
• Support technical estimation, solution scoping, and delivery planning alongside product and delivery teams.
• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 3 years in a Solution Architect or similar architecture-focused role.
• Proven experience designing large-scale, multi-service enterprise platforms.
• Strong software engineering background, with the ability to review code and challenge technical designs.
• Expertise in distributed systems, microservices architecture, service boundaries, API design and versioning, and event-driven architecture.
• Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot, or an equivalent enterprise backend technology.
• Solid understanding of data architecture, relational data modelling, persistence strategies, transactional integrity, and distributed consistency.
• Knowledge of security architecture, including identity and access management, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, authorization, encryption, and secrets management.
• Experience with cloud-native or containerized environments, including Kubernetes or OpenShift, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to produce clear architecture documentation and diagrams that support effective engineering implementation.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and technical decision-making skills.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
