What they need
Role & responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect ready to define the architecture, set technical direction and govern robust enterprise solutions across our business application landscape at Allianz Technology. Experience in SAP SuccessFactors architecture, integration architecture, OpenText and the wider HR systems landscape is a strong plus.
You will
- Own the end-to-end solution architecture for business applications, define the target architecture and roadmap, and align them with enterprise architecture and business strategy.
- Translate business and regulatory requirements into scalable, secure and maintainable designs covering application, data, integration and security aspects.
- Lead architecture and design decisions, run design reviews and ensure solutions comply with Allianz Technology architecture principles, standards and the Design Authority process.
- Design and govern integrations between applications and platforms, including APIs, middleware, file-based and event-driven interfaces.
- Define and govern the platform strategy, including high availability, disaster recovery, performance, capacity planning, upgrade paths and cloud (Azure/AWS) readiness.
- Act as the senior technical escalation point for 3rd-level support and major incidents, lead root-cause analysis and drive long-term fixes together with vendors and internal teams.
- Steer the management of system updates, patches and enhancements, ensuring compliance with IT security and regulatory requirements.
- Embed data security, access control and compliance with GDPR and other relevant regulations by design in all solutions and integrations.
- Where relevant, contribute to the architecture of the HR application landscape, including SAP SuccessFactors, related integrations and content management solutions such as OpenText.
- Collaborate with IT leadership, business stakeholders, enterprise architects and external vendors, and advise them on technology choices, risks and trade-offs.
- Mentor and coach consultants and developers, set engineering and configuration best practices, and keep architecture documentation and knowledge material current.
Preferred candidate profile
- Around 12+ years of overall IT experience, including a minimum of 6+ years designing and architecting enterprise applications and solutions, with at least 3+ years in an architect or technical lead role.
- Solid experience in solution and enterprise architecture across application, data, integration and security domains, with a track record of leading implementations from design to go-live.
- Strong knowledge of integration architecture and patterns, including REST/SOAP APIs, messaging, event-driven and file-based interfaces, middleware and API management.
- Strong knowledge of architecture for security, high availability, disaster recovery and performance, including database design and Windows Server/Linux environments.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS) and with planning migrations, upgrades and modernisation of enterprise platforms.
- Experience creating and presenting architecture artefacts (e.g. arc42, ADRs, solution designs) and working within architecture governance and design authority processes.
- Strong working knowledge of ITSM frameworks (ITIL certification is a major plus) and experience using tools like ServiceNow, Jira, or Remedy.
- Good to have: SAP SuccessFactors architecture, ideally Employee Central plus further modules (e.g. Recruiting, Onboarding, Learning), including configuration, MDF, business rules and role-based permissions.
- Good to have: integration architecture for HR landscapes, such as SAP Integration Suite (CPI) or comparable middleware, SuccessFactors OData/SOAP/REST APIs and SFTP/event-driven patterns.
- Good to have: OpenText Content Server (OTCS) and Extended ECM, including the Extended ECM for SAP SuccessFactors integration, Archive Center, OTDS and Records Management.
- Good to have: knowledge of the wider HR systems landscape, including SAP HCM, payroll, time management and identity/access integration.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related engineering discipline. Architecture certifications (e.g. TOGAF) are a plus; SAP SuccessFactors and OpenText certifications are nice-to-have.
- Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence decisions, mentor others and interact with stakeholders at all levels.
