Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to lead the design, review, and validation of end-to-end technology solutions for large-scale Government IT and e-Governance projects. The candidate will be responsible for defining solution architecture, ensuring alignment with the DIGIT microservices framework, designing APIs and integrations, assessing scalability, and overseeing the architecture of chatbots, mobile applications, and EMS solutions. The role also includes architecture reviews, technical governance, and formal sign-off before go-live.

Key Responsibilities

1. Overall Solution Architecture

• Define and maintain end-to-end solution architecture aligned with business requirements, functional specifications, and project objectives.
• Translate business and technical requirements into scalable, secure, reliable, and maintainable architectural designs.
• Develop solution architecture documents, technical specifications, component diagrams, deployment models, and integration blueprints.
• Evaluate technology stacks, frameworks, infrastructure requirements, and architectural approaches.
• Ensure compliance with applicable government IT standards, security policies, interoperability requirements, and project guidelines.

2. DIGIT Framework & Microservices Alignment

• Ensure solution architecture aligns with the DIGIT platform and its microservices-based architecture, wherever applicable.
• Assess existing DIGIT microservices and identify opportunities for reuse, extension, configuration, or customization.
• Define service boundaries, component interactions, dependencies, and integration patterns.
• Review microservices deployment, inter-service communication, configuration, and operational requirements.
• Ensure architectural consistency, modularity, interoperability, and maintainability across project implementations.

3. API & Integration Design

• Design and review RESTful APIs, integration interfaces, data exchange mechanisms, and service contracts.
• Define API standards, authentication and authorization mechanisms, error handling, versioning, and documentation requirements.
• Oversee integration with government portals, third-party applications, databases, payment gateways, and external systems, as applicable.
• Ensure secure and reliable data exchange across interconnected platforms.
• Review API specifications, integration test outcomes, and system interoperability before deployment.

4. Scalability, Performance & Security Assessment

• Assess solution scalability, availability, performance, resilience, and capacity requirements.
• Identify potential architectural bottlenecks and recommend appropriate optimization measures.
• Review cloud and on-premises deployment architecture, load balancing, caching, monitoring, and disaster recovery arrangements.
• Incorporate security-by-design principles, access controls, data protection, and auditability into solution architecture.
• Validate architectural readiness against expected user volumes, transaction loads, and operational requirements.

5. Chatbot & Mobile Application Architecture

• Design and review architecture for chatbot solutions, conversational interfaces, and mobile applications.
• Define integration patterns between chatbots, backend services, APIs, databases, and existing government platforms.
• Review mobile application architecture for security, usability, performance, offline capabilities, and backend connectivity, where required.
• Assess AI/ML or Generative AI integration requirements, where applicable.
• Ensure interoperability, maintainability, scalability, and alignment with project-specific technical standards.

6. EMS Design Review

• Review the architecture and technical design of EMS solutions in line with approved project requirements.
• Validate application modules, system workflows, data models, APIs, and integration dependencies.
• Identify architectural gaps, technical risks, and design inconsistencies, and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate with business analysts, development teams, infrastructure experts, QA teams, and project stakeholders.
• Document design review observations and track resolution of critical architectural issues.

7. Architecture Governance & Go-Live Sign-Off

• Conduct architecture reviews at key stages of the project lifecycle.
• Review solution design documents, technical specifications, integration designs, and deployment architecture.
• Ensure architectural risks, dependencies, scalability concerns, and security requirements are addressed before production deployment.
• Participate in technical review meetings, design walkthroughs, and implementation readiness assessments.
• Provide formal architecture recommendations and go-live architecture sign-off after verifying compliance with agreed criteria.
• Maintain architecture decisions, review observations, approvals, and technical governance records.

• Scalability, performance, security, and deployment architecture assessments.
• Chatbot, mobile application, and EMS architecture review reports.
• Architecture decision records and technical risk assessment reports.
• A signed Architecture Review Note for each engagement, documenting review observations, recommendations, compliance status, and approval or sign-off.
• Go-live architecture readiness assessment and formal architecture sign-off documentation.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in solution architecture, enterprise architecture, application architecture, or large-scale IT solution design.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture, REST APIs, system integration, distributed systems, and database design.
• Experience in designing scalable, secure, and high-availability enterprise or Government IT solutions.
• Knowledge of cloud and infrastructure architecture, application deployment, performance optimization, and security principles.
• Experience in technical design reviews, architecture documentation, stakeholder coordination, and go-live readiness assessments.
• Ability to evaluate technical proposals, identify architectural risks, and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Strong analytical, communication, documentation, and technical leadership skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with the DIGIT platform and its microservices architecture.
• Experience in Government IT, public sector digital transformation, or e-Governance projects.
• Exposure to chatbot architecture, mobile application design, AI/ML integration, and enterprise application integration.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Familiarity with API gateways, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, containerization, Kubernetes, and DevOps practices.
• Experience in EMS design reviews and architecture governance for multi-stakeholder projects.
• Relevant cloud, enterprise architecture, or solution design certifications will be an added advantage.

Qualification - B.E./B.Tech./MCA/M.Tech. or equivalent in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, Management or a related discipline.
