ROLE OVERVIEW
Aligned Automation is deploying a senior Solution Architect to support a critical client engagement in Limerick, Ireland. The resource will embed directly within the client's project team, bringing specialist architectural expertise and technical leadership to drive solution integrity, delivery governance, and stakeholder alignment across a complex, multi-phase technology programme.
This is a highly specialised role requiring an individual capable of operating as the primary technical authority within the engagement, bridging strategic architecture decisions with day-to-day delivery realities in a demanding, multi-stakeholder environment.
This engagement requires a specialist who can independently own architectural decision-making within a client environment, without reliance on an extended internal support structure. The Solution Architect must command sufficient seniority and domain depth to:
Serve as the single point of technical authority for the client project team
Navigate complex, multi-stakeholder environments with competing technical priorities
Provide governance assurance across the full project lifecycle with minimal oversight
Evaluate and resolve architectural risks that could impact delivery timelines, compliance posture, or solution quality
Bridge the gap between business requirements and technical execution at a level that junior or mid-level architects cannot provide
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Own and lead architectural input across high-level and low-level design phases, ensuring all solutions align with client standards, regulatory requirements, and long-term technical feasibility
Act as the primary technical authority within the project team, providing decisive guidance on architecture, design trade-offs, and solution direction
Lead participation in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring architectural considerations are embedded throughout the delivery cycle
Independently assess complex technical challenges, evaluate solution options, and deliver structured, evidence-based recommendations to senior stakeholders
Drive problem-solving activities spanning requirements, design, build, and transition phases, identifying risks early and proposing mitigation strategies
Govern prioritisation decisions by aligning project goals, scope boundaries, and delivery sequencing with architectural and technical constraints
Define and enforce best practice standards for validation, testing strategy, and quality assurance across the programme.
Ensure rigorous adherence to architectural standards, regulatory compliance requirements, and governance frameworks applicable to the engagement
Produce, review, and approve documentation for validation, quality, and compliance processes, including architecture decision records and design artefacts
Mentor and upskill project team members, instilling architectural discipline and delivery consistency across the programme
Lead and represent architecture at sprint-level and project-level governance forums, including steering committees and technical review boards as required
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in Solution Architecture or a closely related senior technical leadership role
Demonstrated experience serving as the primary technical authority within complex, client-facing IT programmes
Proven delivery of architecture inputs - HLD, LLD, decision records, compliance artefacts in multi-stakeholder environments
Deep working knowledge of Agile delivery frameworks at programme scale
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline

Experience operating within Irish or EU regulatory and compliance environments
Prior engagement experience within regulated or mission-critical sectors
