About the role

The Solution Architect – End User Compute is responsible for the design, technical blueprint development, and feasibility assessment of End User Modern Workplace platforms and services across Orica's global IT environment. This includes Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Entra ID, Intune, Windows Autopilot and SOE, end-user hardware standards, and application packaging, deployment, and patching. The role is primarily responsible for producing feasibility studies, solution designs, and technical blueprints, supported by strong hands-on technical expertise and project delivery experience. Working closely with EUC Engineers (who cover build, configuration, and transition to operational support), Operations, and other IT stakeholders, the Solution Architect ensures designs are practical, well-documented, and seamlessly delivered into production.

What you will be doing

• Produce high-level and detailed solution designs, technical blueprints, and functional/technical specifications covering end-to-end processes, software/systems, and infrastructure
• Develop and maintain EUC platform architecture design and contribute to the 0 to 1-year technology roadmap for Modern Workplace services
• Recommend platform improvements and technology adoption aligned with cloud-first and Modern Workplace principles
• Design platform components that are secure, sustainable, scalable, and cost-efficient, leveraging standard architectures and high levels of integration
• Review designs, blueprints, and specifications for projects and governed change requests, and provide architect's approval for all functional and technical changes prior to build and release to production
• Support the full functional platform lifecycle of allocated projects including scoping, design, development, testing, and transition into production
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation for all aspects of solution design, development, and implementation
• Perform the intake, assessment, and prioritisation of new ideas, demands, and change requests for the EUC team
• Conduct feasibility studies on proposed initiatives, evaluating technical viability, resource requirements, cost, risk, and business value
• Provide technical leadership and architectural expertise for medium to large-scale EUC projects from initiation through to implementation

What you will bring

• 10+ years of experience within IT, either from a business or technical background
• 5+ years' experience in End User Compute, Modern Workplace, or related infrastructure engineering or architecture roles
• Proven experience as a Solution Architect, Technical Lead, or Senior Engineer in enterprise-scale environments
• Deep expertise across Microsoft 365, Entra ID (Azure AD), Intune, Windows Autopilot, and SOE design
• Experience with Google Workspace administration and integration
• Enterprise application packaging, deployment, and patch management (Intune, MECM)
• Windows image management, servicing, and advanced Group Policy management
• Demonstrated experience producing solution designs, feasibility studies, technical blueprints, and business cases
• Proven experience in demand management, feasibility assessment, and portfolio management
• Project delivery experience in medium to large-scale enterprise environments
