We are looking for a Solution Architecture Lead

Location: Venda do Pinheiro
Work model: First months – 1 day/week in the office; after the initial phase – 1 day/month in the office

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Build, lead and develop a high-performing team of Solution Architects.
• Define and own the Solution Architecture vision, strategy and roadmap across multiple engineering domains, in close alignment with Enterprise Architecture.
• Translate long-term target architecture into practical guidance, ensuring consistent adoption across teams.
• Drive end-to-end architectural alignment across business capabilities, ensuring solutions integrate seamlessly across domains.
• Share accountability with Product for delivering sustainable and scalable solutions, balancing business needs with technical excellence.
• Manage, reduce and control technical debt to maintain long-term agility and system health.
• Evolve architecture and platforms to enable the rapid and reliable delivery of future business features.
• Define and enforce architectural standards for high availability, disaster recovery, business continuity and risk management, including NIS2 requirements.
• Drive measurable improvements in system availability, resilience and reliability.
• Establish reliability practices, including resilience reviews, maturity assessments and failure testing.
• Provide hands-on guidance to Product teams and Engineers building scalable, secure, cloud-native and fault-tolerant distributed systems.
• Ensure strategic and technical alignment between Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, Security and Product.
• Promote modern architectural patterns and governance, including event-driven architecture, Domain-Driven Design and API-first approaches.

PROFILE & SKILLS

• Degree in Computer Science or an equivalent professional background.
• Several years of professional experience in Software Architecture or Solution Architecture.
• Proven leadership experience, such as Team Lead, Chapter Lead, Technical Lead or Architecture Manager.
• Strong hands-on background in software engineering, using modern programming languages.
• Experience with cloud platforms, such as AWS or Azure, and distributed systems.
• Understanding of architectural concepts for high availability, disaster recovery and business continuity.
• Ability to balance delivery speed and system robustness, aligning long-term architectural health with short-term business goals.
• Ability to manage technical debt and guide architectural improvements.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong strategic mindset, combined with the ability to turn strategy into practical execution.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Willingness to travel occasionally within Europe.
