Solution Design - Warehouse Function

About the role

This role focuses on Logistics & Supply Chain Engineering, combining data analytics, warehouse design, and transport optimization with commercial and tender support. You will analyse complex customer datasets to define end-to-end operational workflows, engineer optimal warehouse layouts and transport networks, develop detailed cost models, and author technical components for business tenders. You will collaborate cross-functionally with IT and operations teams to integrate systems requirements and ensure seamless implementation of engineered designs.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse complex customer datasets, including order profiles, inventory data, and logistics network data to define end-to-end operational workflows, focusing on safety, efficiency, and waste reduction
• Engineer optimal warehouse layouts, slotting strategies, storage configurations, and material handling equipment (MHE) requirements
• Design efficient transport networks, routing strategies, and fleet configurations to minimize empty running and maximize utilization
• Develop detailed cost models including labour, equipment, facility costs, operating cost, IT system and infrastructure, and transport cost to establish competitive and profitable pricing frameworks
• Author technical components, solution write-ups, and operational concept designs for business tenders
• Support BD and KAM in pitches of proposed technical solutions to customer stakeholders during bidding, contract renewal, and scope extension processes
• Identify potential operational and financial risks within proposed solutions and engineer mitigation strategies
• Collaborate with IT and systems teams to integrate Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Transport Management Systems (TMS) requirements into the design
• Ensure seamless transition of engineered designs to the operational implementation team post-win

About you

• Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a highly quantitative field
• 1 - 3 years of experience in solution design, logistics engineering, or data analysis within a 3PL environment
• Advanced skills in warehouse modelling software (e.g., Visio, CLASS, AutoCAD, SketchUp), route optimization tools, and expert-level MS Excel
• Analytical and logical thinking with ability to turn ambiguous, messy customer data into structured, actionable insights
• Commercial acumen and understanding of how operational design choices directly impact profit-and-loss (P&L) statements
• Strong communication skills to bridge the gap between technical concepts and non-technical business leaders
