Solution Engineer

Responsible to provide mechanical engineering solutions according to Engineer-to-Order (EtO) requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide EtO solution with the scope of EtO Governance Model released by Global Product Governance by maximizing the reuse of standard and pre-engineered solutions.
• Provide mechanical component design according to EtO requirements and order configurations.
• Perform technical analysis and investigation of non-standard Application Engineering solutions and develop non-standard One-Off solutions based on requests in accordance with the Product Governance Guidelines of Integrated Application Engineering Department.
• Review recurring solutions and initiate the reusable designs, standardize mechanical component designs for common EtO requirements in Mechanical Engineering.
• Specify various mechanical component solution, strength calculations and its manufacturing drawings for production.
• Focus on freight lift product line development, project commission solutions, component engineering review and technical support.
• Perform a component checking FEA (Finite Element Analysis) especially for a safety related component.
• Perform the safety factor and deformation checking for necessary components to predict the behaviour and reliability of the design.
• Process orders in time according to supply chain expectation and the KPI of Integrated Application Engineering.
• Cross check mechanical design feasibility with system engineering to meet complex EtO requirements.
• Provide necessary technical supports and trainings to supply chain.
• Cross check and review mechanical component designs in Mechanical Engineering.
• Make sure internal standardization solution maintained up to date or phased out.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in the elevator industry.
• Solid experience in elevator layout engineering, with strong knowledge of elevator components, industry codes and standards, engineering tools, and design methodologies.
• Experience with 3D modelling software such as CREO, SolidWork or Ansys would be an advantage.
• Experience in Finite Element Analysis such as CREO, SolidWork, Ansys etc is a plus.
• Strong technical knowledge of structural and static engineering, with a sound mechanical engineering background.
• Ability to work independently with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong planning, organizational, and analytical capabilities.
• Extensive experience in creating, reviewing, and interpreting mechanical and manufacturing drawings.
