Solutions Architect

Role purpose

Own the end-to-end technical solution design across OT cybersecurity, business solution development and IT governance/data management. Ensure designs are practical for environment, align to architecture standards, protect operational integrity, and can be handed over cleanly to internal teams.

Key responsibilities

Lead solution architecture for task orders across all three categories

Design integration patterns (API-first, event-driven) between legacy systems (e.g. ERP) and modern services

Guide OT-aware designs (segmentation, secure access, non-disruptive controls) together with the Cyber Security Analyst

Define target architectures, decision records and handover packs

Review designs, code quality gates and security considerations

Support rapid mobilisation and shape squad composition per task order

Transfer knowledge to architects and technical staff

Minimum qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience

Ability to obtain Eskom site access / security clearance as required

Experience (essential)

8+ years in IT, with 5+ years in solution / enterprise architecture roles

Proven delivery in large or complex environments (SOE, utility, public sector or large enterprise preferred)

Strong experience in systems integration and modernisation of legacy landscapes

Comfortable engaging both business and technical stakeholders

Preferred

TOGAF, Zachman or similar architecture framework exposure

Experience near OT/ICS or critical-infrastructure environments

Cloud/hybrid architecture (Azure advantageous for Eskom context)

Prior work with API gateways, integration platforms or microservices

Clear written and verbal communication

Ability to lead without disrupting live operations

Pay: Up to R800,00 per day
