Solutions Architect

Role Summary

Solution Architect with experience in Voice over LTE (VoLTE), IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS), RCS messaging, Voice over WiFi, including packet core, deployed in carrier environments.

Lead of technical customer engagement from a solution point of view. Providing technical response for bids and support creation of sales proposals. Responsible for end-to-end solution development, including creation and maintenance of High Level Description (HLD), and solution lifecycle management throughout implementation.

This role is effectively a liaison between customer engagement teams and multiple internal teams, systems engineering, R&D and product managers.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development and refinement of Mavenir’s vision and strategy, understanding the product portfolio, being able to discuss current and new solutions with customers.
• Responsible for creating solution proposals and technical materials in conjunction with regional and global Mavenir staff of the products that are part of an end to end solution.
• Responsible for determining gap analysis and generating Change Requests on the relevant product(s) to meet the solution design.
• Ability to engage with customer at various levels, ranging from technical call flow reviews to discussions with product and business areas.
• Represents the solution capability to the customer as part of the solution lifecycle process.
• Interact with customers as well as internal project, product and R&D teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in computer science / telecom / electrical engineering or equivalent
• 10+ years of relevant experience

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience leading solution design / architecture of VoLTE and IMS solutions.
• Ability to communicate and discuss technical scope information with a wide range of external (customer engineering, operations, tech marketing) and internal peers (R&D, product management)
• Versed in core mobile technologies such as on EPC/VoLTE/ IMS; messaging technologies such as RCS, SMSC, MMS; voice/data roaming architectures and protocols
• Understanding of the software development cycle of carrier class software, OSS/BSS integration, testing and deployment on the network operator environment
• Proficient understanding and discussing solutions flows involving SIP, Diameter, Web services, XML, JSON, HTTP, REST, Websocket, SOAP and various APIs
• Understanding virtualization technologies, i.e. NFV, Openstack, hypervisors and DC environments
• Familiarity with 3GPP/OMA/ETSI/IETF and other standards related to telecom solutions.
• Network based, distributed databases e.g. Ceph, Cassandra, Swift, Couch, etc.
• Experience with Japanese network operators is a plus
