Solution Architect – Payments & AWS

We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect with strong expertise in the Payments domain and AWS Cloud to join our technology team in Sydney.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing scalable, secure, and highly available solutions across payment platforms and cloud environments. You will work closely with business stakeholders, engineering teams, product teams, and security teams to translate business requirements into robust technical architectures.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop end-to-end solution architectures for payment and financial services platforms.
• Provide architecture leadership across payment processing, payment gateways, transaction platforms, and integration services .
• Design highly available, scalable, secure, and resilient solutions using AWS Cloud .
• Work with AWS services such as EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, VPC, CloudFront, SQS/SNS, EventBridge and CloudWatch .
• Design API-led, microservices and event-driven architectures .
• Develop architecture diagrams, technical designs, solution proposals, and documentation.
• Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, performance, availability, and disaster recovery requirements .
• Work with payment protocols, payment gateways, acquiring/issuing systems, transaction processing and financial integrations.
• Collaborate with development, DevOps, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and data teams.
• Identify technical risks and provide appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Conduct architecture reviews and provide technical guidance to engineering teams.
• Support cloud migration, modernisation, and digital transformation initiatives.
• Ensure payment solutions comply with relevant industry standards and security requirements, including PCI DSS where applicable.
• Participate in technology evaluations, proof-of-concepts, and vendor assessments.
