📍 Sheffield or Birmingham | Contract

We're hiring a Solution Architect to join Cyber Engineering at a major financial services organisation — leading technical design across a Kubernetes-based security integration toolkit covering SAST, DAST, and other vulnerability scanning capabilities, as part of a major programme to simplify and enhance vulnerability management.

What you'll do:

• Lead technical design of systems and services across the Cyber estate, including SAST, DAST, and broader vulnerability scanning integrations
• Own architectural artefacts — Solution Design docs, Architecture Impact Assessments, External Hosting Considerations — through to design authority sign-off
• Review requests for change, identifying design concerns and gaps to business requirements
• Advise on security risk for proposed changes and embed secure development strategy
• Influence senior stakeholders across departments and align designs with business objectives
• Stay ahead of emerging technologies and apply innovative security architecture solutions

What you'll bring:

• 5+ years' experience owning application/service architecture, including CI/CD and SDLC integration
• Strong cloud expertise, particularly Kubernetes and GCP, with on-prem integration experience
• Solid understanding of security protocols, cryptography, authentication, and authorisation
• Experience managing large datasets and complex data pipelines
• Excellent communication skills and strong commercial acumen

Bonus: familiarity with security scanning tools (Nessus, Checkmarx, Wiz, Netsparker) and vulnerability scanning capabilities (SAST, DAST, Cloud, IaC)
