Solutions Architect (Digital Wallet / Apple Pay)

About the role

Design and implement end-to-end solution architectures for digital payment platforms, mobile wallets, and card provisioning services, including Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, and other emerging payment technologies. Lead the architecture, integration, and enhancement of digital wallet capabilities across banking channels, ensuring alignment with business objectives, enterprise architecture standards, and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and high-performing technical solutions for digital payments, tokenization, card lifecycle management, and customer onboarding journeys.
• Define integration architectures leveraging APIs, middleware, cloud services, and payment gateways to support wallet provisioning, token management, transaction processing, and fraud monitoring.
• Conduct architecture reviews, identify technical risks, and implement mitigation strategies for payment and digital wallet initiatives.
• Create and maintain architecture documentation, including solution designs, integration diagrams, technical specifications, and non-functional requirements.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development, engineering, and project teams.

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in software engineering, systems integration, solution design, or enterprise technology delivery.
• At least 4 years of experience as a Solutions Architect in the banking, payments, fintech, or financial services industry.
• Hands-on experience delivering digital payment solutions, including Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, or similar mobile wallet platforms.
• Strong understanding of card payments, payment processing, tokenization, provisioning, payment gateways, acquiring, issuing, and card scheme ecosystems.
• Solid knowledge of API-driven architectures, microservices, cloud platforms, middleware, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Understanding of banking security standards and compliance requirements, including PCI-DSS, authentication frameworks, encryption, and fraud prevention mechanisms.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience working with Agile delivery methodologies and cross-functional teams.
