Solutions Architect - Key Hire

We’re partnering with an amazing organisation on a Solutions Architect hire for one of its most significant digital transformation programmes.

This is a high-profile, business-critical programme focused on modernising a complex technology estate and bringing together historically fragmented systems, data and processes into a modern, cloud-native digital ecosystem .

The ambition is significant: transform customer and employee experiences, simplify complex processes and deliver substantial efficiencies across the organisation.

This is an opportunity to take real architectural ownership – not simply advise from the sidelines.

The Role

You’ll join an established, cross-functional technology team and take end-to-end architectural ownership across multiple engineering workstreams .

Working closely with Engineering Managers, Java Engineers, Product, Data and Security, you’ll turn complex business requirements into clear, scalable technical solutions and ensure architectural decisions translate into successful delivery.

You’ll operate across cloud architecture, APIs, integrations, data and user-facing applications , while helping teams navigate the realities of modernising a complex enterprise technology environment.

This is an embedded architecture position . You’ll remain close to engineering and agile delivery, providing technical direction and making key architectural decisions without becoming a bottleneck.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Own solution architecture across multiple engineering teams and systems.
• Design scalable, secure and resilient AWS cloud-native solutions .
• Define architecture across microservices, serverless and event-driven systems .
• Shape API and integration architecture across modern and legacy platforms.
• Define system boundaries, integration contracts and architectural standards.
• Produce and maintain architecture documentation, including ADRs, solution designs and non-functional requirements .
• Lead architecture reviews covering security, reliability, performance, scalability, observability and cost .
• Identify architectural and integration risks early and drive pragmatic solutions.
• Work directly with engineering teams throughout agile delivery.
• Collaborate with Product, Data, Security and senior technical stakeholders.
• Explore opportunities to responsibly incorporate AI/ML capabilities into the wider platform.

What We’re Looking For

You’ll be an experienced Solutions Architect, Software Architect, or Technical Architect who has taken ownership of architecture across complex, multi-system environments .

Strong experience in:

• AWS architecture
• Microservices and distributed systems
• Event-driven architecture
• Serverless technologies
• REST APIs and API Gateway patterns
• Complex system integrations
• Modern data architecture and data pipelines
• Relational data platforms such as RDS / Aurora
• Security, scalability, reliability and observability
