Solutions Engineer (API Integration & PM)- LATAM

VelaFi is seeking a technically minded and customer-focused Solutions Engineer (API Integration & Project Management) to support customer onboarding and API integrations across Latin America.

This role serves as the technical-commercial bridge between customers and VelaFi's internal teams, ensuring API implementations are delivered efficiently while providing an exceptional customer experience. You will work closely with Account Executives, Customer Success, Product, and Engineering to guide customers from technical discovery through production launch, minimizing integration friction and accelerating time-to-value.

The ideal candidate has experience managing technical implementations, understands REST APIs and modern integration workflows, and enjoys collaborating across multiple departments to solve customer challenges. Location: Preferred: Remote within Latin America

This is a fully remote position. Candidates should be based within Latin America and have the ability to collaborate across multiple time zones while supporting customers throughout the region.

Key Responsibilities

API Integration & Project Management

• Manage customer API onboarding from kickoff through production go-live.
• Break implementation projects into structured milestones including discovery, sandbox, UAT, production deployment, and launch.
• Track implementation progress, proactively identify risks, and remove blockers to ensure successful integrations.
• Own project timelines while coordinating activities across customers and internal teams.

Technical Customer Enablement

• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customer developers throughout the integration process.
• Troubleshoot API authentication issues, JSON payloads, webhooks, HTTP status codes, and integration errors.
• Utilize tools such as Postman and cURL to validate requests and diagnose technical issues.
• Escalate complex issues to Engineering while maintaining clear customer communication.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner closely with Account Executives during pre-sales conversations by supporting technical discovery sessions and resolving technical objections.
• Work alongside Customer Success to ensure seamless customer handoffs following implementation and successful long-term adoption.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to prioritize customer feedback, escalate bugs, and communicate feature requests.
• Act as the technical voice of the customer across internal departments.

Customer & Stakeholder Management

• Lead technical implementation meetings with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Communicate project status, milestones, risks, and next steps throughout the onboarding lifecycle.
• Build trusted relationships with customer technical teams while aligning business and engineering objectives.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify recurring implementation challenges and recommend process improvements.
• Contribute to implementation documentation, onboarding materials, and technical best practices.
• Support the continuous optimization of VelaFi's customer onboarding experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 1–3+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering, Technical Account Management (TAM), Technical Project Management, Sales Engineering, or API Integrations.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON, HTTP status codes, webhooks, and API authentication methods.
• Experience using API testing tools such as Postman or cURL.
• Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple customer implementations simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Professional fluency in at least two of the following languages:
• English
• Spanish
• Portuguese
• Mandarin Chinese
