What they need

At kausable, we build causal, reasoning-first models that learn from a handful of examples and generalize across domains. We are now taking those models out of our lab and into the systems of our first design partners, in business intelligence, biomedicine, robotics, and manufacturing above all.

As our Solutions Engineer, you own that last stretch: you make a working capability run at a customer's site, on their data, inside their security and compliance perimeter. Our Productization team owns serving, evaluation and the shipment. You own the customer-specific path from a signed pilot to a system the customer trusts, and the field evidence that path produces. You’re their technical consultant – for our products. The luxury dilemma you’ll face: every customer wants a bespoke solution, and every bespoke solution we build is one we maintain.

  • Lead technical integration with our first design partners in diverse verticals, from scoping to a working pilot.
  • Deploy and operate our models on customer infrastructure, from the classical API to on-premise and air-gapped setups under license.
  • Run pilots against success criteria you agree with the customer upfront, instrument them, and report on them.
  • Support technical pre-sales: our tech is broad; try to qualify further use cases and accomplish proofs of concept.
  • Steer customer security, privacy and compliance reviews, and keep our answers, promises, and quality consistent.
  • Turn recurring integration work into reusable assets: reference implementations, deployment playbooks and documentation that let customer engineers run the system after handover.
  • Carry field evidence back to research and product: where the model meets data it handles poorly, where our abstractions leak, and what the next vertical needs.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience deploying and integrating software or ML systems in customer environments.
  • Strong Python, plus containers, cloud infrastructure and a working knowledge of running inference workloads.
  • Confidence in on-premise and restricted environments: networking, access control, dependency management and hardware constraints.
  • The ability to translate a customer's business problem into a technical scope, and to cut the parts that won't hold.
  • Credibility with engineers, procurement and a security officer, often on the same call.
  • Readiness to travel to customer sites; integration happens where the customer's systems live.
  • A pragmatic, outcome-oriented style: you optimize for pilots that run and systems customers adopt.
  • Open to travel up to 50% of your time – more is a nice-to-have, depending on your and the company’s needs.
  • This role is open across levels. We welcome junior candidates with a real appetite for ownership, and senior candidates who have handled demanding customer situations before.

⚒️ Tools and Infrastructure

  • Python and PyTorch.
  • Docker, AWS, GCP, Hetzner, RunPod or comparable infrastructure.
  • Customer-side deployment, monitoring and observability tooling.
  • AI agents such as Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini in daily work.

Nice to have

  • In-context learning, PFNs, synthetic data or probabilistic models.
  • Robotics, control systems, manufacturing, or biomedical and clinical data environments.
  • Deployment in regulated settings: EU AI Act, medical AI, ISO 27001 or comparable frameworks.
  • Prior work as a solutions, forward-deployed or customer engineer, in technical consulting, or with design partners.
  • German alongside fluent English, for DACH customers and their compliance paperwork.

🏆 Perks & Benefits

  • VSOP equity: a real stake in what we build.
  • 30 days of paid holiday per year.
  • Statutory social insurance.
  • Conference travel and role-relevant learning.
  • Flexible hybrid work, with roughly one in-person team meet-up per month.
  • A high-end laptop, the latest tools and AI assistances.
  • Flexible and fast processes, short decision paths, and a – still :D – cosy, colloquial work environment.

🫶 Sounds like it's for you? Send us your favorite way to drink coffee along with your CV or LinkedIn, and we'll get back to you soon.

If it's a match, we'll get to know each other over a number of online interviews, followed by an on-site day where we go in depth.

We are looking forward to hearing from you!

Other offers great for you!
