Capstone IT is helping our client find a Solutions Lead who will lead a team of software engineers while remaining hands-on with solution architecture, technical design, and application delivery. This person will design scalable, cloud-native applications using Java, Spring Boot, AWS, and related integration technologies. They will guide developers, make architectural decisions, and ensure applications are reliable, secure, and maintainable. The role combines technical leadership with hands-on engineering and includes using AI-assisted development tools to improve team productivity.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor software engineers through design, development, deployment, and production support.
• Design and implement enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, and AWS .
• Develop REST APIs and event-driven integrations using Kafka, MongoDB, and related technologies.
• Partner with business stakeholders and other technical teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
• Establish architecture and engineering practices covering performance, security, scalability, and maintainability.
• Drive technical decisions across multiple initiatives while remaining involved in development and delivery.
• Introduce AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering efficiency and software quality.
• Support integrations involving MuleSoft and applications with React front-end components.

Qualifications

Required

• 5+ years of experience leading technical teams and mentoring software engineers.
• Hands-on Java, Spring Boot, and AWS application development experience.
• Experience with REST APIs, Kafka, MongoDB, and event-driven architecture.
• Strong solution architecture and system design capabilities.
• Experience making technical decisions and supporting applications throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering practices.
• Ability to communicate architecture decisions to technical and business stakeholders.
• Must be authorized to work without current or future employment sponsorship.

Nice to Have

• MuleSoft and API -led integration patterns.
• React application experience or experience supporting front-end engineering teams.
• Experience influencing architecture across multiple teams or product areas.
