Mr. Mick is a winery, cellar door and restaurant located in the Clare Valley, one of South Australia's leading wine regions. Part of Tim Adams Wines, Mr. Mick offers a relaxed regional dining experience built around wine, food and genuine hospitality.

We are seeking an experienced and qualified/certified Sommelier to join our hospitality team and take a leading role in the wine experience at Mr. Mick.

The Role

Working within our restaurant and broader hospitality team, the Sommelier will be responsible for delivering a knowledgeable and engaging wine experience for our guests while supporting the day-to-day operation of the restaurant.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing and developing the restaurant wine list and wine program.
• Providing professional wine recommendations, food-and-wine pairings and tableside wine service.
• Maintaining appropriate wine inventory, cellar organisation and stock control.
• Training and mentoring restaurant staff in wine knowledge, wine service and food-and-wine pairing.
• Working closely with the kitchen and hospitality teams to develop wine pairings and enhance the overall guest experience.
• Sharing knowledge of Tim Adams, Mr. Mick and Clare Valley wines with restaurant guests.
• Providing knowledgeable service across local, Australian and international wines represented on the restaurant wine list.
• Supporting restaurant service and contributing to consistently high standards of hospitality.
• Assisting with wine-focused events, tastings, functions and other hospitality experiences.
• Maintaining professional standards relating to responsible service of alcohol and restaurant operations.

About You

We are looking for a qualified/certified Sommelier with substantial professional experience in wine and hospitality who can combine strong technical wine knowledge with warm, approachable service.

The successful applicant will have:

• A recognised Sommelier qualification/certification or equivalent professional wine qualification.
• Demonstrated professional experience as a Sommelier in a restaurant or comparable wine-focused hospitality environment.
• Strong knowledge of Australian and international wines, wine regions, varieties and styles.
• Demonstrated knowledge of professional wine service and food-and-wine pairing.
• Experience developing or managing restaurant wine lists and wine programs.
• Strong communication and customer-service skills.
• Experience training or mentoring hospitality staff in wine knowledge and service.
• Strong organisational skills, including wine inventory and cellar management.
• The ability to work collaboratively within a restaurant and hospitality team.
• Appropriate Australian Responsible Service of Alcohol certification or the ability to obtain it.

What We Offer

This is an opportunity to take on a senior wine-focused hospitality role within an established Clare Valley wine business, working across the restaurant wine experience and alongside the Tim Adams and Mr. Mick teams.

Salary: $75,000–$85,000 per annum plus superannuation, depending on experience and qualifications.
