Essential General Manager Duties

• People & Team Leadership: Interview, hire, train, and coach Team Members and Carhops; build and manage schedules; adjust daily staffing levels; and maintain accurate payroll records while ensuring compliance with the employee handbook.
• Daily Operations & Guest Service: Lead opening and closing procedures; direct team members to meet Sonic food service operational standards; and reinforce a guest-first culture by addressing customer needs promptly, respectfully, and effectively.
• Supply Chain & Inventory Management: Track inventory metrics and place orders for food, paper, and essential supplies while following company cost-control guidelines.
• Financial & Strategic Growth: Complete required operational reports; develop action plans to improve sales and financial performance; and implement marketing initiatives to support and grow location results.

REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or equivalent required with a minimum of one (1) year of restaurant management experience (QSR preferred), including a proven history of running shifts unsupervised and coordinating daily restaurant operations to meet performance goals.
• Strong supervisory skills with a demonstrated ability to coach, motivate, and hold team members accountable, backed by a working knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, and team selection practices.
• Proficient in basic accounting and restaurant management software for handling scheduling, ordering, inventory tracking, and performance reporting.
• Extensive knowledge of food and beverages—including the ability to recall ingredients to assist customers—alongside strict adherence to federal/state labor laws and local health, sanitation, and hygiene regulations.
• Strong verbal and written communication, conflict-resolution, and decision-making skills; must maintain a willingness to abide by company uniform/appearance standards and work a minimum 5-day workweek with high autonomy.
