What they need
- Perform ultrasound examinations according to the physician's request and department protocols.
- Operate ultrasound equipment safely and effectively.
- Obtain high-quality diagnostic images for interpretation by the Radiologist.
- Ensure patient safety, comfort, privacy, and proper communication throughout the examination.
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with departmental policies and quality standards.
- Perform routine and specialised ultrasound examinations, including abdominal, pelvic, breast, vascular, musculoskeletal, and other examinations as required.
- Explain the procedure to patients and provide appropriate instructions before and during the examination.
- Optimise ultrasound settings and obtain appropriate images and measurements for Radiologist interpretation.
- Recognise and escalate significant or critical findings to the Radiologist according to departmental protocol.
- Participate in quality improvement activities, audits, training, and competency assessments.
