Sonographer

18WKS is seeking experienced Sonographers to support NHS diagnostic imaging services and help reduce patient waiting times.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound examinations in accordance with clinical guidelines and departmental protocols.
• Obtain high quality diagnostic images and measurements to support accurate clinical assessment.
• Assess and document findings, escalating any concerns in line with clinical procedures.
• Produce accurate reports and maintain complete patient records.
• Explain procedures to patients, ensuring their comfort, dignity and understanding throughout the examination.
• Work collaboratively with radiologists, clinicians and the wider multidisciplinary team.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with NHS policies, infection control procedures and professional standards.

Requirements

• Relevant recognised qualification in Medical Ultrasound or Sonography.
• Appropriate professional registration, where applicable.
• Previous experience performing ultrasound examinations in a clinical setting.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a clinical workload effectively.
• Satisfactory references and completion of compliance requirements.

Location: NHS Trust sites, depending on service requirements.

Contract: Ad hoc shifts, with potential for ongoing work.
